Do you pray to Jesus or his Father?!?

Because I get that in the end you say "I pray in Jesus name, Amen". But if your praying to Jesus wouldn't it seem awkward with Dear Jesus in the start and the I pray in Jesus's name? I don't know. I'm a new Christian but I pray to his father and ask for the wish to be fulfilled in his name. Does it really matter to who you pray to?!
