Should a friend tell you anyway?

Suppose you are in a relationship but a platonic friend of yours of the opposite likes you romantically also. Should that friend tell you even if he or she knows you are already in a relationship? Would it offend you to hear the person tell you this or would you be flattered anyway and would it make a difference in how you related to him or her afterwards?
