What would make a good beta or gamma radiation source?

I got a Geiger Counter and before getting a decent one I want to first get it into this one. The Geiger Counter I have can only detect beta and gamma radiation. So I need to know any type of rocks or objects from a shop or something with a beta/gamma source that would make a good collective.
